Beautiful made-to-order, handwoven, hardwood daybeds.
A bespoke piece of furniture that will last a lifetime.

The beds can be left outside throughout the year. The turned Iroko wood will silver beautifully over time.

The weave is based on an ancient North Indian Charpoy pattern. Using traditional techniques, I hand weave each bed with 220 meters of rope.

The beds work inside as an alternative to a chaise lounge and will keep their rich dark wood colour. The comfortable foam toppers are covered in a selection
of quality fabrics.

Information
My woven daybeds are inspired by the Charpoy (also called Charpai, Khat, Manja), a traditional handwoven bed used for centuries across South Asia. The word Charpoy comes from the Hindi and Urdu words for “four legs,” reflecting its simple yet timeless construction. I deeply respect this heritage and the craftsmanship behind it.

The beds are made with Iroko wood, a durable and sustainably sourced hardwood perfectly suited to British outdoor conditions. Therefore they can be left outside throughout the year, making them ideal for gardens, verandas, poolsides and terraces. The turned Iroko wood will silver beautifully over time. Every piece is woven with care, keeping the spirit of the traditional Charpoy alive while adapting it for contemporary living.

Each daybed includes a fabric-covered mattress topper, available in a wide selection of durable, heavyweight, and washable fabrics.

I make a limited run of beds each year so please email me if you are interested in placing an order.

The beds are made to order so there will be a lead time of 2-3 weeks.
Please email if you want any further information.
